NEWS BRIEF · Jobber

Jobber adds Yelp lead intake for US and Canadian businesses

The October 20 integration brings new Yelp inquiries into Jobber; eligibility and phone-based client matching need an office review.

Announcement: · Core plan and up; US and Canada

What Jobber announced

Jobber’s October 20 product update announced a Yelp lead connection that brings Request a Quote inquiries into its request workflow. This article is published October 30. The supporting help page is dated October 19; that documentation date is distinct from the product announcement. This is a lead-intake integration, not an announced AI receptionist or automatic sale.

Availability and matching limits

Jobber’s help page lists Core and higher plans in the United States and Canada. It requires a claimed Yelp business with Request a Quote enabled. The documentation describes creating client/request information and checking existing clients using the lead’s phone number. These are vendor-described capabilities; we have not tested the integration. Our take: phone-based matching deserves review where a commercial property office shares a number across sites or contacts. A matched phone number does not independently establish the correct equipment location, purchasing authority or agreement coverage. Confirm account eligibility and current connection requirements before deciding whether to use it.

Why this matters to an HVAC office

Our editorial interpretation: a centralized inquiry can make a handoff easier to review, but intake remains separate from qualification and booking. Commercial teams should verify site identity, request scope, contact responsibility and the permitted next action before creating a customer promise. The integration’s presence does not establish that Yelp is an appropriate source for a particular commercial account strategy. Ask for a demonstration using fictional new-client and shared-office-number cases. Check the resulting client, service location, request content and assigned owner. Record what the account actually shows, including missing information or duplicate concerns. Keep follow-up within existing communication preferences and approval rules; no one should treat a synced request as a confirmed appointment, accepted quote or consent for unrelated marketing.

What remains unverified

We have not measured lead quality, response speed, close rate or duplicate-matching accuracy. Jobber’s claims about reduced manual entry and dashboard visibility are vendor descriptions, not customer results from HVAC AI Insider. Review current pricing and account settings directly; the announcement does not justify a separate claim that every Yelp business, workflow or region is supported.
